  • That's so not cool, cretins who prey off a social network. Oh well, there's always bad seeds. I guess we'll have to implement some type of reputation systems, something like rapleaf or ebay reputation soon.

Or maybe I'll be a masked avenger and target those who target others.
  • crazyness! is craigslist a social network?

i wrote awhile ago about craigslist fraud and how it is only going to get larger. these are really edge cases in the TRILLIONS of transactions that occur on craigslist. sucks that they will slightly darken the beauty of craigslist.
  • yeah, fraud on CL stinks for everyone. Restrictions are terrible as well, but I think that is the way everything is going.
  • It is unfortunate, but you can hardly blame Craigslist. These types of scams are not new and the world is and always be full of grifters. Where this Chronicle article went wrong is to try and put the responsibility on Craigslist. Fact is people need to be cautious when buying and selling anything from strangers, online or off. If some asks you to meet them in the parking lot of an abandoned Target store, that should send up a red flag. The moral of the story. Don't be stupid.
